Like many others in the United States and throughout the world, we are quarantining ourselves to stop the spread of Coronavirus. While being home is nice because we can get a lot of things done that we’ve been meaning to, we are also looking to scratch that travel itch. Unfortunately, we have already had to cancel trips because of the outbreak, so we’ve been doing some researching on ways you can travel while quarantined due to the Coronavirus. If you are having that same itch to get out and explore, we have compiled this list of 10 Ways You Can Travel While Quarantined.

1. Visit Museums

When visiting cities throughout the world, museums are often included in travel itineraries. Luckily for you, Travel+Leisure has put together a list of 12 Museums From Around the World That You Can Visit Virtually. Some of the museums virtual tours they link are the British Museum in London, the Guggenheim in New York, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Visiting a museum virtually might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it might be able to help with not being able to travel outside of your home. Plus, it’s educational, so it might help if you’ve suddenly found yourself homeschooling.

2. Attend Live Concerts

SXSW was one fo the first major music festivals cancelled due to Coronavirus. It was a shock to everyone, but was later followed by Coachella and countless other festivals and concerts. If you had a concert or trip to a music festival cancelled or postponed, many musicians are putting on live concerts from their own quarantines and you can attend! For free!

Check out your favorite musician’s social media to see if they are planning on doing a small set or all out concert. If they aren’t, ask them! You never know if they might say yes. They are probably bored at home too!

3. Watch Travel-Related Netflix Shows

Spending a weekend day at home might usually mean binge watching a show on Netflix. However, being quarantined at home of at least a month, if not longer, means that we are trying to limit the amount of TV we watch and the amount of overall screen time we have. If you do want to travel the world through Netflix a little bit, check out some of the travel-related shows on Netflix. We put together a post on Travel Shows on Netflix that has some of the best travel shows they have.

If you have another streaming service, like Hulu, Prime, or HBO, check out their travel shows and get some inspiration for your next trip!

4. Visit Zoos

Much like museums, zoos are often a place people visit when they are traveling, especially if they are traveling with kids. Some zoos are doing virtual tours, which offer another way you can travel while quarantined. Again, if you are teaching your kids at home now, a virtual zoo tour could offer them a chance to learn something new and maybe do a report or presentation on what they learned while visiting the zoo!

Some of the zoos with virtual tours or web cams are the San Diego Zoo, Houston Zoo, Atlanta Zoo, Georgia Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Milwaukee County Zoo.
