Budapest is famous for its thermal baths. There are tons of them throughout the city, but the most famous ones are the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. You can spend all day relaxing in the sun and hopping from cold to warm to hot pools. This will take up a good part of one of your two days in Budapest, but it is worth it!
St. Stephen’s Basilica
St. Stephen’s is the largest church in Budapest. If you are not one for visiting churches, this one is a little different because you can go on the roof and get an incredible view! If views aren’t your thing, just take a stroll past it as its a major point of interest in Budapest.
Jewish Quarter
Budapest has a very large Jewish Quarter, which includes restaurants, bars, and shops. There are synagogues throughout the area that are worth seeing. Strolling through the Jewish Quarter is a must in Budapest, especially as some of the places you should eat at during your two days in Budapest are in the Jewish Quarter.
Walk by the Danube
Taking a walk by the Danube River that divides Budapest is another thing that you can do that will take you by other places to see in Budapest, like the Shoes on the Danube memorial and the Hungarian Parliament.
If you’re feeling up for it, cross the Danube on one of the bridges and check out Fisherman’s Bastion on the other side of the river.

Szimply Cafe is one of the best breakfast places in Budapest. The zucchini pancakes are absolutely delicious! It’s a smaller place, so you might have to wait for a table. Szimply Cafe is pretty centrally located, which makes it easy to get to. During your two days in Budapest, definitely get breakfast here!
Food Trucks
Next to Simple Gert Ruin Bar, there is a food truck park with lots of food trucks. They have a huge variety of food, so there should be something for everyone. It’s an open air food truck plaza with plenty of seating. You might even be able to stop there twice if you wanted to during your two days in Budapest.
Where to Drink for Two Days in Budapest
Ruin Bars
if you are only going to drink at one place in Budapest, you need to go to a ruin bar. There are plenty of them throughout the city, and they are exactly what they seem—a bar built into the ruins of a building.
They are as unique and quirky as they sound. There are different ones throughout the city, but definitely check out Szimpla Kert.
360 Bar
For an awesome rooftop bar in Budapest with a great view, you need to go to 360 Bar. It’s a little further away from the center, but not too far. It’s between the center of Budapest and the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. The atmosphere is great and its the best rooftop bar in Budapest for a relaxing drink!
